I am currently taking part in the Home-Start volunteering preparation course with a lovely group of ladies. It is unfortunate that these meetings are currently having to be done through Zoom as I imagine we would get to know each other more quickly face to face. This being said the other participants I have been placed into breakout rooms with have all been friendly and chatty during the sessions. We all seem to have had lots of experiences, some similar and some different which has made the sessions very interesting by being able to listen to everyone’s views and share my own.
I have learnt more than I expected to, and the moral of the potato experiment will stay with me forever. I feel comfortable talking to the group even when some of the subjects get quite intense and bring up some personal bad memories. Vikki and Sharon are inspiring, and I am looking forward to completing the course and hopefully helping lots of families with Home-Start Telford & Wrekin.
